The purpose of this structure is to make sure that the Component Assemblies folder always contains the latest, greatest and automatically updated version of the product being designed/assembled for production. Any component found in this folder will be linked to the appropriate component file found in the Components folder, which is where ALL in-use components and all of their (automatic) versions are stored and edited. The workflow and data management standards state that the Component Assemblies folder is just that, the folder where ALL assemblies of products, sub-assemblies and component assemblies are to be stored. Within each of these there are directions for further sub-folder arrangements depending on the complexity of the project.

I have instituted the following folder structure for each distinct product we design or manufacture: Component Assemblies, Components, Machining Fixtures, Drawings, Renderings, Stock Parts and Obsolete Designs. In order to standardize our design process I have implemented written standards as to how and where data files are to be placed within the top-tier project level wrapper. The second part of the file management/workflow issue I'd like to bring up is how the file folder structure within a single project file is organized and editable. Being able to wrap projects and their designs in a folder that identifies the owners is an important part of managing data in any business, including a small design/manufacturing organization like ours. This way, collaborators can be sure that they are working on the correct client's project, and in addition, an 'archive Client' function should allow ALL enclosed client files to be both archived in the cloud AND downloaded to our servers as a complete package that can be backed up and archived off-line in our offices on durable media. My first suggestion is that Autodesk create a 'wrapper' within which multiple projects can be placed, along with their associated files, that doesn't control the design content but rather can be used to identify the client in some detail, including client name, addresses, email, phone, contacts and any other relevant information related to the owner of the design files contained therein. This makes it difficult to set up a standardized set of file associations that related not just to the objects created, but to the client to which they belong. This means that to have access to common parts and updating links each client's entire panoply of designs and products must be created within a single Fusion360 'project' file with the project being named for the client somehow. Fusion 360s top-tier 'project' file structure allows the creation of folders within a design, but there is currently no way to allocate more than one Fusion360 'project' to a specific client. I might be on IRC this Friday.As a design engineer at a small CNC machine shop I find myself dealing with many individual clients, each of whom may have several different design/manufacturing projects in the works. Actually, the splitted spline parts do not exactly correspond to the original spline, but the difference is negligible, and the tanget at the split point is preserved. So we must swap to the 'control point' mode, then we can easily trim the spline. The reason for this - perhaps odd - behavior is, that after the spline is cut, I could not guarantee that the remaining shape remains the same if the cut point is added to the 'through' points. Then it starts to behave as an ordinary B-spline of degree 2, so we can move the control points to modify the shape, the original 'through' points are lost. But this functionality ends as soon as the spline is either cut, or re-read from the DXF file. My spline goes through the defined points, it is possible to edit the points and move them to modify the spline shape. I tried to catch you on IRC, without success so far. Splines of degree 1 and 3 are left for the old spline implementation. The only interaction with the old code is, that if the DXF file contains a spline of degree 2, it is read as SplinePoints entity now. I basically reuse the filter code for old splines.

I can store my spline through points the same way, the fit points are not used at all. The old spline implementation allows to draw B-splines of degree 1, 2 and 3. Regarding the DXF spline entity, I don't think there is any danger. I have added also spline-spline intersection, so intersection is also finished.
